|Alexander Lindsay, Master of Crawford was the son of Sir David Lindsay, 8th Earl of Crawford and Lady Elizabeth Hay. He married Jean Sinclair, daughter of Henry Sinclair, 3rd Lord St. Clair and Margaret Hepburn. He died circa 5 July 1542, killed in a broil, by a cobbler of Dundee.|
Alexander Lindsay, Master of Crawford was styled as Master of Crawford. Alexander Lindsay, Master of Crawford also went by the nick-name of 'the Wicked Master'.2 On 16 February 1530/31 at Dundee, Angus, Scotland, he was arraigned, found guilty of constructive patricide, and was condemned to death. On 30 March 1537 he was forced to renounce all of his rights to the Earldom of Crawford.
